I’ve read your book and think about it a lot. Is there any record that the Jews fought among themselves over what should be included and excluded or evidence that more than one school formed and more than one version existed?

If you mean “included or excluded” in the biblical canon, we certainly have some evidence of that. While the precise notion of a fixed canon did not yet exist, the Dead Sea Scrolls community apparently considered some books as sacred while other Jews ultimately rejected them–such as the Book of Jubilees, for example. Early Christians (the earliest of whom were Jews) kept books like Judith and Ben Sira and the Wisdom of Solomon, whereas these too were eventually excluded from the Jewish Bible.
